Google's Connected Classrooms is a wonderful site that offers free virtual field trips for your class. In addition to the site, Connected Classrooms also has a community on Google+. The community is FULL of upcoming VFTs as well as teachers who are simply looking to connect with other classrooms around the world. If you have thought about taking field trips or connecting with others but don't have the time or resources Connected Classrooms is a great solution.
