App Of The Week: PDFzen

Feeling like all those PDF documents you have in your network folder or on your zip drive are going to waste because they aren't really workable for your students when using Gdocs?  Well, PDFzen is a Chrome app that will allow your students (or you) to type, highlight, draw, and/or comment right on any PDF you share with them.   Here's how to get PDFzen in your students' GDrive after you have shared a pdf:

  • From the student's GDrive right click on the shared pdf
  • Choose "Open With"/"Connect More Apps"
  • In the search box type "PDFzen"
  • Click "Connect"; a message will appear that says "PDFzen has been connected to Google Drive"
From this point students will notice that the pdf document in their GDrive now has the PDFzen icon  rather than the original pdf image.  By right clicking again, the student can choose "Open With"/"PDFzen" and the pdf document will be editable.

  1. Thanks, I have been looking for something like this for awhile now! This will make things much easier in a few of my classes.
